Types of protective material

1、 Polyethylene foam EPE, commonly known as pearl wool:

Features: small density, good flexibility and high recovery rate; The shockproof property is superior to polyethylene plastic;

Applications: furniture, household appliances, instruments and meters, craft gifts, wood products, glass ceramics, building waterproof, carpet interlayer, sound insulation, travel bags, precision spare parts, various pipe insulation and other fields.

2、 Polyethylene foam material EPS, commonly known as foam board or styrofoam:

Advantages: good shockproof and cushioning performance, high compressive strength (the compressive strength increases with the increase of density), small water absorption performance, grease resistance, easy molding, and low price.

Disadvantages: not environmentally friendly; After compression, it is easy to produce plastic deformation, poor reusability, poor weather resistance, brittle texture, and fragile dust.

Application: Packaging of household appliances and industrial products.

3、 Inflatable film or bags, made of 7-layer nylon co extruded film (PE+PA), or made of PE.

Advantages: There are many types and specifications. Now most enterprises use this kind of packaging material, which is clean, easy to recycle, load-bearing, environmentally friendly and cheap;

Disadvantages: It is easy to be pierced and damaged by sharp objects. If the air column bag is affected by similar sharp objects, the air column bag will be damaged and leak, and cannot be used again.

Applications: precision instruments, fragile glass products, hardware products, beverage and food, electronic industry, logistics and transportation, automobile accessories.

4、 Kraft paper buffer, inner bag: PE+NY (PA nylon) seven layer co extruded film; Outer bag: Kraft paper+PP woven wire composite

Advantages: This is very in line with the European and American buffer packaging market. Paper cushion packaging can play a very good role in filling, winding, fixing and buffering. In addition, the recyclability of paper does not need to be considered at all, and it also conforms to the emerging national green express transport specifications. However, the price is relatively expensive, and the quantity must be considered.

Hot-selling protective material, air bubble wrap

For e-commerce, the packaging method of  Protective materials should fully ensure the safety of goods, so it is necessary to configure good protective materials. Among them, air bubble wrap is relatively popular and widely used. Why is air bubble film a popular protective material in e-commerce industry? Let's talk about it

  1. What kind of air bubble wrapis better?

The air bubble wrap should be strong and durable. It should be able to squeeze with a certain amount of external force and still keep in good condition. At the same time, it should also be a national environment-friendly material that can be recycled to reduce costs.

  1. What are the purchase criteria for air bubble wrap?

Basis for purchase of air bubble wrap

1: Environmental protection. Good environmental protection can establish a good environmental image for businesses;

2: Product quality. The product should have high barrier, high toughness, puncture resistance, high air tightness and good safety protection.

3: Unique airbag design. Unique bubble design, small size, can be inflated on demand, saving storage and transportation costs.

EPACK has more than 10 years of experience in the design, development and production of cushioning  protective material . It has introduced advanced production equipment and production technology, has excellent production processes, uses high-quality production materials, and produces products with the above advantages, which can better reduce the packaging process and save labor costs for businesses.

How to choose protective material for packaging?

The vulnerability of each product is different, and the degree of protection required is also different. Protective material is the only packaging material that can protect products in various environments.

However, different products have different needs for cushioning packaging according to their features. There are many types of protective materials on the market, including fragile and precise cushioning air column packaging, filling bags and air cushion film for filling intervals, perishable and soft double-layer bag packaging, and environment-friendly material of honeycomb paper rolls. Each protective material has different pertinence, so you should be careful when choosing the protective material for product packaging.

Cushion packaging of agricultural products

For example, when transporting grapes, raisins and other agricultural products, try to choose some relatively soft protective material, such as the air bag of inflatable bags. This protective material uses the double layer inner bag close to the product, and the outer bag is filled with gas to form a swimming circle like protection.

Protective material for glass products

If it is glass products, ceramics and other fragile products that have strong overall protection, it is recommended to use customized air column bags for packaging, which can withstand the weight and extrusion caused by the shaking of goods during transportation according to the deformation of the protected products due to pressure, protect the transported goods from damage during transportation, and reduce the transportation costs and unnecessary losses of enterprises.

Protective material for daily necessities

For general merchandise products, there are two types of packaging. One is air pillow bags for void filling, and the other air bubble film for wrapping. Air pillow bag is used for the products with more gaps in the packaging box and protection for smaller sizes. Air bubble wrap is also called air cushion film. This protective material is a new environment-friendly buffer packaging material "air cushion". The air cushion film has strong flexibility, good elasticity and strong resilience. It can be used for packaging in many fields, dealing with many products of different sizes and shapes, such as cosmetics, snacks, hardware tools, electronic accessories, etc.

Customization Matters: Tailoring Protective Materials to Suit Unique Requirements

Customization is a key advantage of protective materials. Manufacturers can select the appropriate materials, adjust the thickness, and incorporate specific features to meet their unique requirements. For example, foam padding can be customized to provide extra cushioning for delicate items, while bubble wrap can be tailored to fit products of various shapes and sizes. This customization ensures that each product receives the level of protection it deserves, minimizing the chances of damage or loss.
